Brianna Mawra
Brianna is a freelance urban planner based in Amsterdam, passionate about active mobility and deeply engaged in questioning the impacts of car dependency. Known for her ability to connect people and spark meaningful conversations, she believes mobility matters because it shapes everyone’s lives, at every stage.
With an international background and a strong champion of collaboration, Brianna brings both insight and curiosity to complex mobility challenges. She has worked in the mobility field since 2019, contributing to shared mobility and cycling projects in the US, EU, and Asia.
Growing up in the car-dependent United States sparked her long-standing interest in how and why people move through cities. This led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Amsterdam. Her background in hospitality and tourism management continues to inform her planning work, grounding it in care, accessibility, and human experience.
In 2025, Brianna founded BM Urban Planning in Amsterdam, where she works at the intersection of mobility change, behavioral change, research, and critical thinking around car dependency, always with an eye toward a more inclusive and people-centered future of movement.
