Charles Ford

Charles is an Independent consultant and entrepreneur based in Bristol. He has more than 10 years' experience in operations, strategy, procurement, and leadership roles across the transport, micromobility, and last-mile logistics sectors, with a particular focus on e-cargo bikes, e-bike fleets, and fleet management for high-growth startups.

From 2021 to present, Charles has operated Hatat Solutions, providing specialist consultancy to UK micromobility businesses. He served as UK Country Manager at PORT, where he scaled the business from 15 to 1,000 rental e-bikes with 24/7 operations across multiple London sites. He led logistics and supply chain operations, managing the import of over 1,000 e-bikes into the UK and Europe, including customs compliance and HMRC liaison. At Blike, he grew their B2B cargo bike offering from concept to operational fleets spanning multiple UK cities. At fettle, he built their B2B mobile bike servicing business arm, scaling operations over 18 months—work that was critical to their successful acquisition by Kwik Fit.

Earlier, he was a Management Consultant at PA Consulting Group specializing in vehicle fleet operations. He established the Programme Management Office for the £8 million Severn Bridges Decommissioning, delivered £20 million in cost optimization for a MOD £500 million procurement program through fleet analysis of 4,000 vehicles, and developed fleet strategies for Highways England's 500-vehicle operational fleet and Manchester Airport Group's 600-asset portfolio.



Charles studied Electronic Engineering at the University of Warwick and holds professional qualifications including IPMA Level D, MSP Foundation, and MIET.
