Giles Lipscombe

Giles is a data analyst and modeller with 10 years’ experience in sustainable transport consulting. He specialises in creating bespoke models, data tools and methodologies tailored to the specific needs of each project. His primary tools are Excel, Python and GIS, with additional experience in SQL, databases, and software development. Key areas of expertise include emissions modelling for greenhouse gases and air quality pollutants, economic appraisal (including the DfT’s TAG framework) and GIS visualisation and spatial analysis.


Giles bolsters our team’s capacity and experience in developing and delivering technical work packages, taking pride in the quality of his work and giving every project the care and attention it deserves. He likes to invest time into understanding the wider context of the project, shaping his work to deliver on the immediate task while factoring in how it will fit into our clients’ wider aims and objectives.



Having spent time in small mission-focused consultancies, large multi-disciplinary multinationals and in secondments to local government offices, Giles has experience across a range of projects, teams and contexts. He has worked extensively in international development, contributing to large-scale public transport, decarbonisation and freight projects across Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe for clients such as the World Bank and EBRD. His UK experience is focused on UK public sector clients, primarily supporting public transport projects such as bus network improvements, ticketing analyses and programme monitoring & evaluation.
