James Reeves
James is a transport economist with more than 35 years experience, working both in the UK and internationally, working in more than 50 countries worldwide. He works across all transport modes and is skilled in developing multi-modal transport plans. Over the past 15 years James has worked on a wide range of climate adaptation and disaster risk management projects, developing guidance documents, assessment tools, and appraisals of investment options. He has been involved in a number of high profile projects including the first business plan for public transport in Dubai, development of new ideas for public transport in Outer London, proposals for the redevelopment of Wembley Stadium, pre-feasibility studies for the airport high speed railway in Malaysia, and development of the first BRT service in Maputo.
James has been responsible for the development of a range of project appraisals, in both the UK and internationally. Most recently, he led the team that developed the outline business case to support bus service franchising in Cambridgeshire. Previously, he has led teams developing appraisals for Levelling Up Fund bids, for programmes to be funded under CRSTS funding, and standalone public transport and active travel strategies.
James has led inter-disciplinary teams on a large number of projects, including climate adaptation strategies, investment feasibility studies, and institutional strengthening and capacity building projects.
