Nikil Abraham

Nikil Abraham is an innovation-driven entrepreneur and project leader with a strong track record of turning creative concepts into commercially viable and socially impactful ventures. Originally from Kerala, India, he relocated to Germany to complete his Master’s in Automotive Engineering in Aachen.

Nikil began his career as a researcher on various road safety initiatives and, in 2017, was selected as the FIA Sid Watkins Scholar to work on advanced motorsport safety projects. After a couple of years in motorsport safety, he founded Hugvita UG with the mission of making a broader societal impact — specifically by improving child occupant safety in developing countries.

His vision was to serve as a bridge between regions. Coming from India, he had first-hand knowledge of the requirements and challenges faced in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). Being based in Europe gave him access to the latest research, technology, and advancements in safety. Hugvita harnesses the network and expertise that exists in Europe to address pressing safety issues in LMICs through innovative product development.

With experience managing R&D projects, Nikil has successfully raised government funding, co-ordinated multi-stakeholder collaborations, and overseen complex development cycles. His career spans mobility and safety innovation, blending engineering excellence with social responsibility.
