Dr Sarah Wixey
Sarah brings nearly 30 years of experience in sustainable transport, specialising in fleet decarbonisation, zero-emission freight, and the strategic integration of electric vehicle infrastructure across both public and private sector organisations.
She has advised a wide range of clients, from Transport for London, local authorities and NHS trusts to freight operators, utilities, and international partners, on how to navigate the complex transition to low- and zero-emission fleets. Her work combines strategic planning with operational insight, offering practical roadmaps for electrification, alternative fuels, infrastructure upgrades, and emissions reduction.
As the author of sustainable fleet and decarbonisation strategies for local authorities and blue-light services, Sarah’s consultancy is rooted in both rigour and pragmatism. She also brings international perspective, having contributed to electric vehicle policy development in Lagos and many European funded sustainable transport projects.
Sarah is the CEO at Sarah Wixey Consulting Ltd, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and currently chairs its London region. She holds a PhD in European transport networks and a BA (Hons) in Social Science from Southampton Solent University. She has completed business sustainability programmes with Cambridge University Institute of Sustainability and the LSE.
Sarah complements the Thomas Fleming team by providing deep expertise in freight and fleet decarbonisation, helping clients future-proof their transport systems while delivering measurable ESG impact.
